Theme: Outline of deep learning, and cognitive robotics based on "Deep Cognitive Systems"

Professor, Department of Intermedia Art and Science, School of Fundamental Science and Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University
Appointed as a researcher of Information Environment and Humans at JST PRESTO in 2009. Became an Invited Researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Research Center at AIST in 2015. Engaged in research involving neural networks and human-robot communication development. Served as a board member of the Robotics Society of Japan from 2013 to 2015, and has served as a board member of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence since 2016. Member of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, Information Processing Society of Japan, Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence, IEEE, and other organizations.
He has authored many books such as "Deep Learning will Change Robots" and "AI White Paper 2017."


In this tutorial, there will first be an outline of the basic methods of deep learning, several tools will be introduced, and then applications such as multimodal application will be explained. There will also be an introduction to "cognitive development robotics" and the concept of "deep cognitive systems" which improves cognitive development robotics.
